  My friends and I. Were really looking forward to checking out the newly refurbished Ship and Bell and watching some live entertainment. We very much enjoy the atmosphere a band can create and came to the ship and Bell last night to watch the Manic Muddlers. We were extremely disappointed that the band were hidden in a corner towards the back of the bar. The majority of people in the bar were unable to see the band and so there could be no interaction between the band and their audience.
  I understand that a few people may prefer to have a quiet drink but there is another bar by the restaurant for this.
  We feel it would be far better to locate the entertainment in the front of the pub by the window opposite the bar where all can enjoy.
  The new decor is lovely and it would be wonderful to be able to use the Ship and Bell more regularly, however, the lack of atmosphere has put me off and could be so easily rectified.

  I only went for a drink. The pub itself has been sympathetically refurbed. Whilst waiting to be served I was acknowledged and then what I can only assume was the manager arrived. Lets just say it went downhill rapidly.
